May Bank Holiday (Sun 5th May - Mon 6th May) 10.30-3pm
Sat June 15th and Sun 16th June 10.30-3pm
The course suits all levels.
Students will start by making flat pieces of work, be it platters, cheese boards, tiles and plates that will then serve as canvases for in-depth surface decoration course using coloured slips.
The techniques we'll cover during the workshop are:
-painting with slips using resists
-scraffitto and infill
-stamping, adding textures
Students are encouraged to come prepared with images or sketches of work they like and would like to use as an inspiration. This saves precious making time. You may want to look through some magazines, pinterest to get ideas of shapes and patterns you'd like to achieve to discuss with the teacher.
This 2 day workshop can be taken as a one-off clay adventure or as part of the continuous pottery skill building approach.
At the end of the course, the pieces you make , will stay with us to dry, they will be fired and glazed in our workshop, ready for collection few weeks later.
We will have a light lunch ready for you for both days to keep you going.
