These mugs are made of strong stoneware clay and will last a test of time.
Cups are made of clay that is stained in our studio to apply a custom background colour, charcoal black, to the clay body that shows both on the inside and outside of the piece. They are decorated with a relief pattern, applied with carved texture rollers of my own design and making. Light layer of porcelain is applied to accentuate the relief detail. Each piece is glazed on the inside and half way up on the outside outside to reveal the texture of the untreated clay in the lower part and base.
Cups are made in very small batches of a particular colour; please, grab what you like while it's available as I will be changing the colour finishes throughout the year but once gone, I will not be accepting custom orders for particular colour finishes.
Note that each cup is hand built and hand decorated- therefore some slight differences and imperfections will occur.
Cups come with large squared handles decorated with an imprint of twigs.
