These three unique plates, illustrated with the images of thunderbirds in flight mode, are made of marbled clay to create a dramatic colour effect in clay body, showing both at the back and front of each platter.
The marbled clay is created from recycled slip stained offcuts, produced while making plates and cups. The effect of blending it into slabs is a surprising and exciting technique as the true colours only show after the pieces have been fired.
The round plates measure 20.5 cm and 28 cm in diameter. The oval tray is 22/10.5cm. They are made of high fired porcelain clay and can be used daily as serving plates, washed and the dishwasher without colours fading. In case you'd like them up on the wall, the round plates have a hanging loop on the back that is not in the way of functional use.
