October Bank Holiday, 3-day Hand-building and Decorating Pottery Course
26th-28th October
3-day pottery course covering 3 hand-building techniques- coiling, slab-building and press moulding; followed by an introduction to slip decorating techniques (stencils and transfers) and texturizing (scraffito/relief and stamping).
Small group of 6 students. No previous experience needed/ all levels welcome.
This is a hands-on pottery making course.
Participants will make and decorate at least 3 pottery pieces; all work will be fired, glazed and returned to students within 4 weeks after the class (shipping of work can be arranged at extra charge).
DAY 1 - 3rd August,10-4pm
Hand-building day. Three hand-building techniques will be explained and presented, followed by students practicing each technique.
DAY 2 - 4th August- 10-4pm
Day 2 introduces the decoration techniques and participants will be able to finish, refine and decorate all pots made during Day 1.
DAY 3 - 5th August ,10-2pm
Day 3 will be dedicated to your creativity and either finishing pieces from previous days or working on new projects of your choice .
This course is suitable for everyone aged 16 and over with interest in clay, from absolute beginners to advanced clay users who want to learn and test techniques I use in my practice. Minimum 4, maximum 7 participants.
The studio is wheelchair accessible (over a small step at the entrance) and one of the workstations is suitable for wheelchair users.
There are a few workstations with chairs provided, most of them are standing.
All materials and tools provided.
Please bring your own snacks and refreshments.
Please, make sure you arrive on time as each day starts with presentation.

Cancellations policy- we accept cancellations and provide full refund for cancellations made 2 weeks in advance of the class. Late cancellations and no-shows will not be refunded.
