Marbled Clay Collection

The beginning of year means a big studio tidy up, planning, reorganising and clay recycling.

Throughout the year I collect porcelain offcuts from trimming cups and bowls - they wait, stored in buckets, for the big January reclaim. The clay gets remoisturised, than carefully layered and made into new slab with dramatic marbled effects. 

The making process is a bit of a guessing game, an exciting one!

When I roll the slabs and decorate them, I can only assume the intensity and colour combinations of the finished pieces- each unique and impossible to replicate.
